When the opportunity arose to purchase her own commercial space in Frisco, Kay and her husband Arun made the decision to make the move from Richardson. With over 20 years of insurance experience; Kay and her team strive to provide exceptional customer service. NorthStar Commercial Interiors is thrilled to be their trusted general contractor for this commercial construction project.

Currently the future State Farm office, is four walls, concrete foundation, and a roof. NorthStar Commercial Interiors will transform the space into a functional and beautiful office for State Farm's clients and agents. First the concrete will be cut to add plumbing, then walls, electrical, and HVAC will be installed. Once the permit is issued, we are ready to get started. Alan Ellen II and his staff at Professional Black Belt Academy train kids to adults in multiple martial art disciplines. There is something for every member of the family. Pro Black Belt Melissa also offers an after school leadership program. Students are picked up at school and driven to the academy. There, kids participate in a leadership class as well as martial arts classes. It's a win win for both parents and kids! 

For the interior construction of Pro Black Belt Melissa, NorthStar Commercial Interiors is thrilled to be the trusted general contractor. In construction terms, this project was a shell-space finish-out. Meaning the exterior walls, foundation, and roof are in place. NorthStar added plumbing, electrical, HVAC, walls, lighting, fixtures, flooring and more to transform the empty space into an outstanding martial arts training facility. "Helping Kids Develop Through Soccer" (kidsunited.com) Kids United is an early development soccer program for children ages 18 months to 10yrs. Their new Texas location is on the Plano side of 121/Ohio Rd close to Frisco, McKinney and Allen. 

Formally a retail space, this remodel added an additional bathroom and a new office/storage area. Metal studs form the soccer area. Along with big windows, so that parents can watch their kids learn new skills. Artificial turf covers the pitch area. Bright colors and lots of light make kids feel at home. Definitely a fun project for NorthStar Commercial Interiors. Construction is complete. Now Kids United is ready to help kids develop life skills through soccer.

As a parent, Sunita Antony saw the incredible benefits of the Kumon program in her child's academic growth.  Now after 10 years, she is leaving her corporate job and pursing her dream of owning a Kumon Franchise. Kumon Learning Center is located in Melissa TX. After diligient research, Suniti chose NorthStar Commercial Interiors to build-out her new space.

A phenomenal transformation has taken place, during the construction of the new Kumon Learning Center. The empty dirt floored shell space received  plumbing, electrical, concrete, HVAC, walls, flooring, lighting, bathrooms and much more. Sunita's dream of building a space from the ground up to something beautiful has come to fruition.  Her Kumon Learning Center is open and ready to help kids learn and grow in confidence. An old concrete building gets new life in Princeton, TX. Many challenges happen when remodeling a commercial building that was originally designed for a bank.  Now that the project is complete, Pro Black Belt Princeton has a functional and aesthetically pleasing space to train kids and adults in a variety of martial arts. In addition, Pro Black Belt offers an afterschool leadership program. The Pro Black Belt van picks up kids from their Princeton elementary school and brings them to the academy. While there, the kids work through a leadership curriculum specifically developed for Pro Back Belt. Then kids participate in their martial arts training. 

Parents are amazed at the positive effects this program has on their kids. That is one of the reasons Bruce and Renee Newman opened  their second Pro Black Belt Academy Franchise. The space looks great.

As well as, the multiple treatments offered at Augment Wellness that help your body heal skin conditions, injuries, soreness, and much more. The treatments are available for anyone who wants to feel better and be at their best. The wellness studio will include an Infrared Sauna, Cold Immersion Hydro Therapy, Hot Contrast Immersion Therapy, Compression Therapy, and a Barometric Chamber. 

An exciting new project for NorthStar Commercial Interiors. Remodeling an old gym into a new wellness studio for Augment Wellness. During the commercial project, NorthStar Commercial Interiors will be moving walls, installing the equipment, adding a shower, new flooring, and paint. Construction is expected to be complete by late December or early January. Then, Augment Wellness will be open to help their clients Relax, Renew, and Rejuvenate. 

Seeing the impact of Professional Black Belt Academy in their kids, convinced Bruce and Renee Newman to become franchise owners of the Celina location, as well as, the Princeton, Coppell and Aubrey locations, coming soon. Not only does Pro Black Belt Academy train kids, teens and, adults in mixed martial arts, it builds confidence, strength, and focus in it's students. NorthStar Commercial Interiors is honored to be the general contractor for this project. In Celina, an empty shell space is being transformed into a martial arts training center, along with a viewing area, classroom, restrooms, and storage area. The world's largest learning center is OPEN in Celina, Texas. Meet Val as she talks about how Kumon helps kids ages 3 to 15 years old, master concepts, gain confidence and develop lifelong learning skills. NorthStar Commercial Interiors is thrilled to be the general contractor for the Kumon Celina project. 

The construction term for this project is a shell space finish-out. This means the building has a shell structure of foundation, exterior walls and a roof. NorthStar Commercial interiors will oversee the adding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, walls, lighting, flooring, signage and fixtures to Kumon's Learning Center. The process took about 12 weeks to complete. Now Val and Kumon Learning Center are ready to help the bright young minds of Celina reach their full potential. While studying medicine in college, Dr. Marilyn Yates, DC was referred to a chiropractor for back issues. This experience changed her direction and she became a doctor of chiropractic. NorthStar Commercial Interiors is delighted to be working with Dr. Yates, DC to remodel her new Chiropractic office. Kernetics Wellness Center is conveniently located at 800 West Eldorado Pkwy Suite 100 Little Elm, TX 75068 near the Little Elm City Hall. NorthStar Commercial Interiors is thrilled to be updating a 2nd generation commercial space for Building Bridges Through Communication. Located in Frisco, Texas the space will be receiving new flooring, new paint, new lighting and treatment areas. Our finish date is January 2024. 

In the video below, Megan Shull articulates so well how Building Bridges Through Communication provides integrated care for their adult clients with disabilities. They are an interdisciplinary therapy agency offering speech, occupational therapy, phsyical therapy, dietary services, behavioral support services, and counseling services. NorthStar Commercial Interiors is excited to announce  My Gym in Allen TX is open.  If you're not familiar with My Gym, they are a kids fitness center.  They offer a loving and nurturing place for kids from 3 months to 10 years to play and grow. Structured classes include songs, dances and practiced skills. Kids also love the camps, birthday parties, parent's night outs and all the fun stuff!  

This was a 2nd generation remodel in The Village at Allen off of E. Stacy and Hwy 75. Troy, Morgan and Mila got in on the Demo Day action by smashing walls. During this project, we demolished existing walls, built a second restroom, installed a swing system, climbing walls, and a zip line.  Added some fun new carpet and paint and MyGym is now open for business.

It's not uncommon for aspiring entrepreneurs to work for years before the time is right to strike out on their own.  The right time for the Gilbert family was Fall 2023.  We are so honored to be selected to help Sifu Cory and wife Mallory realize their dreams of opening their first Kung Fu gym (Kung Fu Academy of North Texas) in McKinney TX. Located at the NE corner of Custer and Virginia (Next to Sonic)

This is a fairly typical commercial remodel for us.  We're taking a 2nd generation retail space and completely remodeling it.  We are moving a few walls, reworking the electrical and HVAC systems, building a great space for spectators to watch the athletes practice their art, installing a gorgeous new epoxy floor that will feature their logo, and bringing it up to new commercial codes and ADA standards. The results are incredible! Check out the photos below. 

What was once a cold dark shell (nothing but framing) is now a fun, inviting and productive workspace.  

After consulting with the owner to understand his needs and wants, we determined that we would need to move some walls to create the environment he was looking for.  We quickly discovered that some of the walls were load bearing and would play a significant role in how the space could be finished out.  Working with our structural engineer, we were able to devise a system of support beams to carry the overhead load while providing VZure with their desired look and feel. 

The end result is a gorgeous, modern office that provides a place to both work and play, building employee morale and productivity. 

This was a fun build-out and we look forward to working with them again on their next tenant improvement project.

Rockstar Martial Arts in Frisco has moved into a new location and  Northstar Commercial Interiors has completed their remodel. Their new space used to be a dental office. After demoing the existing structure, relocating the bathrooms, HVAC, electrical and sprinkler system, Rockstar, now has a great open space for martial arts training.  

Since the ceiling is open to the roof deck, we needed to rewire the suite to conceal the wiring.  We installed new, modern lighting and painted the roof deck a dark grey.

The walls were finished smooth to display inspiring murals of Jui-Jitsu athletes. A glass wall office, mats and equipment finish off the space. With the remodel complete, Rockstar has a spacious location for classes and competitions for many years to come. 

This was an exciting project. Melissa Eye Associates had a very short runway to get out of their existing location and into a new office. We all know that “time flies” and “things always take longer than we expect”. So, the pressure was on to complete the project ASAP.

We took an empty shell-space and finished-out a beautiful Doctor’s office in record time. The results are fantastic. Dr. Thomas, the staff, and their clients love the results. Check out the pictures below.

Sustaire’s Karate for Kids in Allen needed a better space to accommodate their growing business. After researching many locations, they found an old video rental store with a great location and loads of potential. As a matter of fact, there was also an empty space next door. By combining both suites, a new spacious training center was created.

During the commercial remodel, a demising wall was removed between both suites. The entire space was rewired and the electrical panels were combined onto one meter. An old bathroom was removed, while adding a new office and storage space. Once the drop ceiling was removed, the overhead area was reworked to conceal the wiring. We added new, modern lighting and painted the roof deck black.

The result is a fantastic new space that will support their growth and their athletes well into the future. 

What is a shell space? It is a commercial building that does not have the interior built-out yet. It typically doesn’t have electricity, plumbing or HVAC in place either. It is designed with maximum flexibility in mind, allowing the new owners or tenants to carve out as much space as they need and to build it out to their unique requirements.

In this instance, a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones leased a new shell space in West Frisco. Edward Jones had contacted several contractors to bid on the finish-out. Specializing in small business projects, we are well positioned to win.

The medical construction industry is as strong as ever.  What's more, the phenomenon of the Nurse Practitioner practice is gaining much momentum and  Johnson Family Medical is leading the way.

What started as a small practice in a tiny office has exploded after moving into their gorgeous new facility. Taking a cold, dark, shell and transforming it into a beautiful, modern, medical office that patients love, reminds us how much WE LOVE WHAT WE DO...

What is a cold, dark, shell, AKA Shell-Space?  It is a building that only has exterior walls.  There is NO Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, interior walls, ceiling, etc.

Finishing-out a shell-space is a great way for medical and healthcare practitioners to build exactly what you want.

This growing surgical practice was looking to expand.  Like many others, they realized the potential for growth in Frisco, which is consistently one of the nation's best places to live and fastest-growing communities.  It didn't take long to find a prime location on Preston Rd.  All the space needed was a dedicated x-ray room with lead shielded walls. We are always willing to take on small projects like this and delight in helping other businesses grow.

New retail construction and new franchise openings are on the rise.  With so many retail sites sitting vacant, this is a great time to negotiate favorable rent or purchase terms with strong tenant improvement allowances.

The back story:  This new Wild Birds franchise owner had worked in finance for 25+ years and was ready to spread her wings and fly on her own. After finding a prime corner location on Preston Rd., she needed to transform the place to take flight and soar with the eagles.

Ok, enough of the bird puns...This was a really fun construction project that yielded terrific results.  The new store is beautiful and the owner is enjoying tremendous success in delighting clients from all over the United States.

While more and more patients fill their prescriptions online, pharmacy construction is remains strong.  After all, those prescriptions are best filled locally.

The back story:  This Pharmacist/Entrepreneur was looking to expand his online prescription business and found the perfect location. The challenge with many existing buildings is that the floorplan was designed and built for someone else.  Undeterred by the floorplan, his vision was clear and the solution was simple: remove all of the office walls to make room for serious order fulfillment efforts.  And his vision is paying off handsomely.

Here's the back story: A growing online beauty supply retailer finally saved enough to open a stand-alone location.  This 10,000 square-foot building was once home to a Chuck E. Cheeses, then a medical practice.

This was a major undertaking.  We had to remove ALL of the existing infrastructure and start from scratch.  The transformation was nothing short of remarkable.

This client suffered a two burst pipes during the snowpocalypse of 2021.  We received an urgent call late in the evening that their gymnasium was flooding, so I rushed out to turn water off to the building.  The following day, we met to survey the damage and to line out a plan to mitigate his losses and to start the road to recovery.

Our plan included opening up the walls to start the drying-out process right away and to lessen the chances for mold.

We spent many an hour pouring over insurance adjustments, talking with adjusters, providing pictures and market values to help our client greatly increase the amount of his insurance recovery.
